NASA fiscal year budget requests and authorized budgets are provided below. Authorized budgets are those that have been included in enacted appropriations bills that are approved by both houses of Congress and enacted into law by the U.S. NASA budget requests are developed by NASA and approved by the administration prior to submission to the U.S. Enhance capabilities and operations to catalyze current and future mission success.Catalyze economic growth and drive innovation to address national challenges.Extend human presence to the Moon and on towards Mars for sustainable long-term exploration, development, and utilization.Expand human knowledge through new scientific discoveries.NASA operates with four FY2022 strategic goals. The current administrator is Bill Nelson, appointed by President Joe Biden, since May 3, 2021. NASA's administrator is nominated by the President of the United States subject to the approval of the US Senate, and serves at the President's pleasure as a senior space science advisor. Except under exceptional circumstances, NASA civil service employees are required to be US citizens.
